POSITION TITLE:    Marketing and Communications Specialist

ORGANIZATION:     Communities In Schools of Benton-Franklin

REPORTS TO:           Development Director

PAY RANGE:             Salaried, non-exempt position: $50,000-$55,000 annual salary

Work Schedule:          Full-time, 12-month schedule, average 40 hours/week, some evening and weekend work may be required.

COVID-19:                 All staff are required by OSPI to be fully vaccinated; proof of vaccination is required.

Summary:

The Marketing and Communications Specialist will communicate the mission and grow brand recognition of Communities in Schools of Benton-Franklin through a multi-faceted storytelling lens on the organization’s website, social media platforms, quarterly newsletters and other internal and external communications. This position will also be responsible for providing in-person and virtual presentations to community partners as well as supporting our Student Support Coordinators in their marketing efforts, as well as supporting annual fundraising events and campaigns.

Marketing and Communications Support

  • Create and maintain social media marketing calendar in collaboration with Development Director
  • Create daily social media content to share the work and impact of CISBF
  • Design digital and print marketing assets (newsletters, annual report, brochures, flyers)
  • Support programming team in development of school-based marketing materials
  • Manage content on CISBF website
  • Maintain database for agency digital snapshot contents
  • Attend networking events and speaking engagements to grow brand awareness

Fundraising Support

  • Support planning and execution of annual fundraising breakfast
  • Create digital and print marketing assets to support fundraising campaigns throughout the year
  • Assist in outreach and donor stewardship efforts

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 2 years of marketing/digital storytelling experience
  • Experience with Canva and other graphic design programs
  • Experience with photo and video editing programs
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Proficient social media administrator
  • Confident in training and public speaking
  • Creative thinker
  • Ability to take direction from supervisor and feedback from leadership team; align efforts with CISBF mission
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
  • Good sense of humor
  • Willing to travel throughout Benton-Franklin counties and occasionally statewide
