I strongly believe every child has the capacity for self-development and success. Some children in our community may face challenges that interfere with their ability to engage fully in school. Communities in Schools collaborates with families and educators to ensure that the students are supported and empowered to stay in school. CIS site coordinators at each school work closely with teachers and staff to identify vulnerable students and ensure that basic needs such as access to food and warm clothing, and more complex ones like mental health care and counseling are available to students in need. CIS has demonstrated decades of positive outcomes and we are fortunate to have them in Benton and Franklin counties. Let us be a caring community that surrounds our students with the support they need to succeed.
