Jocelyn Giles

“I joined the Board of Directors for Communities in Schools because I know firsthand how much support outside the classroom can shape a student’s future. I grew up in a low-income household with a single parent, and there were times when my own educational path felt uncertain. The programs and people who supported families like mine made a lasting difference and helped me believe in what was possible.

I am now a parent of four, which has deepened my understanding of the challenges students and families can face. I hope to use my perspective as a parent, along with my skills in communications, to help strengthen accessibility, support, and the future of Communities in Schools.

As a first-generation college graduate and a longtime Tri-Cities resident, I care deeply about the opportunities available to young people in our community. I am passionate about helping students graduate high school, discover paths they are excited about, and feel confident building meaningful lives close to home. When students are supported early, the impact reaches far beyond the classroom and carries forward into families and future generations.

I am proud to give back to the community by serving on the CIS board, supporting work that matters and ensuring every young person’s voice is heard. I believe that by investing in students today, we are helping build a stronger future for our Tri-City students.”
