“I became involved in Communities In Schools because I have a passion for children. My educational background allowed me to work closely with children and it’s always been something I have wanted to continue to do through my volunteer work. They are our future and it’s so important we invest valuable resources and have mentors to make sure we give them every reason to be successful. Hearing about the program and the work the staff at Community In Schools does is really what made me want to be apart of this. I’m a local graduate and my kids are currently enrolled in the Kennewick School District. I have witnessed how the Student Support Coordinator at my daughter’s school was able to positively influence the children that were there. I have seen the Benton/Franklin area grow so much over the years and the challenges for children have also grown. Communities In Schools helps to break down those barriers and gives support to children and their families. I look forward to seeing the growth of CIS for more community members to learn about what Communities In Schools does and how they can support this organization.” – Monica Cisneros
